This round of mini-grants are intended to by used during the 2016-17 school year. The application narrative must list specific guiding principles as contained in the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards for California Public Schools, Pre-kindergarten through Grade Twelve
Projects will be selected on the following criteria:
1) learning experiences structured by the California Arts content Standards
2) utilization of local artist resources
3) ongoing learning that uses this project as a springboard for continuing arts education and/or integration with other content areas
New this year: Cash support is required from the school, district, PTA, etc. The Ventura County Arts Council’s Arts-in-the-Classroom Mini-Grant of $300 – $500 is intended to be partial funding for the program/project. 1/4 of the amount requested from VCAC must be matched with money from the schools. In-kind is not acceptable as a match. Sample: Requested from VCAC $400; 1/4 match from school $100 = $500 for the program/project.
