The Atrium Gallery is visited by thousands of people daily and is located within the Hall of Administration at the Ventura County Government Center in Ventura, CA. It extends over three floors and contains some 400 linear feet of wall space. Typically there are 15 separate art shows yearly that are open to artists from Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
The mission of the gallery is to provide a wide array of visual arts from diverse artists for the community’s enjoyment and education, and the artists’ benefit; while coexisting within an active public workplace.
The artwork for competitive shows and curated exhibits is juried using a free on-line submission process. Entry fees apply only to work juried into competitive shows. There is no fee for work juried into curated exhibits. Entry fees and sales commissions are discounted for VCAC members and individuals who are members of organizations that are VCAC members. Cash prizes are awarded to winners in the competitive shows and Honorable Mention artists receive a free entry to a future show. Outside, independent judges select the award winners.
