Benefits of the Atrium Gallery
Exhibiting in the Atrium Gallery has a number of benefits compared to other non-profit or commercial galleries:
-Free on-line submission system so no unnecessary trips to pick up work that was not juried into a show
-Entry fees ONLY for work juried into a show; FREE jurying of work
-Competitive entry fees, with discounts for members of the VCAC (savings on entry fees quickly cover membership cost)
-Cash awards (typically totaling $300) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, and free entries into subsequent Competitive shows for Honorable Mention winners
-Artists’ statements welcomed in Show Catalog on display for the public
-Independent judges
-Work does not have to be for sale, but sales are facilitated and promoted by Gallery Coordinator.
-Tall walls (8’) and vast spaces (400’ linear) for large 2-d work
-Large 3-d (free-standing) work can sit on the floor or on sturdy pedestals
-Opportunity to display special “installation” pieces
-No gallery sitting requirement
-Membership in VCAC not required to participate in Competitive shows
-7 competitive shows per year on 6-7 week cycles, PLUS opportunities to be curated into special exhibits (4-7 per year)
-Opportunity to be selected to show your work in executive office waiting rooms following a scheduled show
-Free reception for each show, but no wine
-Low sales commission fees – 25% non-members, 15% members
-Thousands of visitors to the gallery every weekday
-Appreciative employees looking after your work
