Programs


Artists in the Classroom is our arts teaching residency program. It is the only multi-disciplinary arts residency program available to every K-8 school in the county, offering eight-week residencies in dance, music, poetry, visual and performing arts.
Our Arts & Youth Justice program delivers literary, visual and performing arts education inside the Juvenile Justice Center, at all three county evening reporting centers and at several residential programs housing system-engaged youth.
The Ventura County Poet Laureate advances awareness of and appreciation for literary arts and humanities within Ventura County. The laureateship is an honorary position held by a distinguished poet who is a Ventura County resident.
The Ventura County Youth Poet Laureate program aims to identify emerging poet between the ages of 13 and 19 who are committed to civic and community engagement, poetry and performance, and human relations, diversity and social justice across Ventura County.
Poetry Out Loud is a national recitation program initiated by the National Endowment for the Arts in concert with The Poetry Foundation and sponsored in California by the California Arts Council. Ventura County Arts Council facilitates the program in Ventura County.
We have facilitated the creation of and exhibition of various murals and public art work displays by local artists and art students throughout Ventura County.
We partner with and raise funding from individuals, private foundations, corporations, agencies and community partners to support artists and art organizations through grant programs.
