The California Arts Council wants more applicants and has a bigger budget than ever before! We will help you register online, talk budgets and go through the grant questions - together!
RSVP and help us prepare for you. Ask questions. Tell us who you are and what you want to do. Get started before coming so we can help you write narratives, strategize and answer questions.

- 2-year history of providing arts programming and services

- If you do not have nonprofit status, you may apply in partnership with an eligible fiscal sponsor.
Ventura County Arts Council offers fiscal sponsorships and helps write grants for small orgs that get funded. We can discuss partnering and program ideas. We can discuss their viability and offer ways to strengthen your application or your partnerships or the program you propose to do.


Cultural Pathways Grant - Up to $30K | No match required
To strengthen the capacity of small, new, and emerging arts organizations in communities of color, recent immigrant and refugee communities, tribal or indigenous groups. Applicants must have a total revenue under $150,000 for each of the last two fiscal years.

Impact Projects Grant - Up to $20K | No match requIred
Supports collaborative projects in responding to current issues facing California, including the pervasive social, political, & economic inequalities experienced by communities most vulnerable to, and adversely affected by, COVID-19. This program prioritizes local artists and cultural expression that are unique to, and/or historically rooted in the communities to be served.

General Operating Relief Grant - Up to $30K | 1:1 Match Required
Relief funding to arts & cultural orgs experiencing economic hardships due to the COVID-19. This program prioritizes small organizations with total operating revenues below $250K. Funds may support any eligible expenses associated with general operations of an arts or cultural org, including but not limited to rent, utilities, & staff salaries. Operating grants support the applicant in carrying out its mission. Funding is not intended to support a specific project.
